To quote Grady over at Kaiju Shakedown, DOG BITE DOG is like swallowing a handful of broken glass. Dog Bite Dog stars Edison Chen and Sam Lee as a monstrous hitman and a sadistic cop out to get each other. Look for the release later this year. This looks HAAAAAAAAARD.

Todd, when you see the man at NYAFF could you please give him a big warm man hug for me.

Kaiju Shakedown is hosting a Flash version of the trailer and Streaming Windows version.

That’s some filth-encrusted, violent, sadistic, horribly downbeat, downright hellish trailer they put together for this.  Can’t wait to see the film.

Woah that looks f00king ace. When is this flick due?

  3. quadshock 06/21/2006 @ 10:54pm

    oh YES

With Edison Chen in the film, I thought painful meant painfully bad.  Looks like good stuff.

Oh, my. I suspected I wanted to see this badly - go watch Love Battlefield if you haven’t already - but that just confirmed it. Danny The Dog (much as I liked that film) without a _trace_ of sugar? Yes, yes, yes. Bring it on.

I haven’t watched a new Hong Kong movie in many years but both this and RE-CYCLE definitely got my interest.

    That looks incredible. (I hope.)

Re-Cycle got your interest after giving up on HK film? O_o Any particular reason why? I’m always willing to give the Pang Brothers the time of day, but at the same time I completely sympathise with people who dismiss them as empty-headed rubbish. I’m already lowering my hopes after Variety’s review.

Just curious. This, I could understand - it looks to be brutal, nihilistic and uncompromising (put me in mind of The Longest Nite, in a way). Re-Cycle just looks to be overhyped CG-d up nonsense… just since it’s a Pang Brothers film, it’ll look stunning and hopefully have some weak uncurrents of genuinely individual and affecting emotion.

It’s movies like this that make me weep for Hollywood.

I had sort of given up on HK films untill I saw Johnnie To’s Breaking News. Fantastic stuff there.

This looks pretty fucking brutal. Can’t wait.

edison....uurrgh. Can’t stand that mofo. Now he wants to be treated as a serious actor by doing edgier films? the guy still can’t act. At least there’s no Jay Chou or Ekin Cheng involved which would make me vomit inside my mouth

    I consider my ass kicked.

Wow this trailer looks amazing. I want to see it. I saw Danny the Dog and it was amazing this movie kinda reminds me of it. I dont know why maybe it is the fact that it is so dark. Does anyone have anymore info on this movie? And could you send it to me at thanks guys.
