Directors of [●REC] asked to do it again.

Having proven itself to be very popular everywhere it has played in Europe the directing team behind the Spanish horror hit [●REC] have been asked to do it again and make a sequel. Filmax International is currently shopping the project around at Cannes with Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza attached to direct. Todd, we’re looking to you to use your good looks and charm to find out more about this while you’re over there.

Going with the ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ approach Filmax says Rec 2 will have the same “claustrophobic concept” as the first film, seen through a hand held camera lens. They’re being pretty mum on the details so we do not know if it will be set indoors, if it will be about the infected undead, nothing. Hmmm. There could be lots of running around. Lots of blood. Lots of screaming. Lots of shaking the camera. Throw some good jump scenes into the mix. I wonder if they can get it done and out before the American remake of their first film pollutes the cinemas?

    Not sure how you work a sequel to this, but I really liked the first, so bring it on.
