Decide the Next Korean DVD Review at Twitch!

Posted by X at 4:08pm.

Posted in Random Geek Talk .

As you probably know, the last week saw the release of three important DVDs on the Korean market. And, since I’ll try to cover every major Korean release from now on, I need your help!

You can post a comment about which of the three films you’d like me to review first. Of course, if your first choice doesn’t end up winning, no worry. The other two will follow up shortly.

The three choices are:

주먹이 운다 (Crying Fist)

달콤한 인생 (A Bittersweet Life) Director’s Cut

남극일기 (Antarctic Journal)

You are also encouraged to add any Korean DVD you’d like to be reviewed in the future, and I’ll happily consider it. Although we’d like to cover recently released titled a little more, you can also request reviews for older DVD releases.

You can add comments until Tuesday morning 6:00 am, Central European Time.

anyway, I’d be most interested to see your review of Antarctic Journal, which hasn’t gotten as much press on this site, I feel.

Looks like everyone’s voting for A Bittersweet Life (which I have already seen -and disliked), so I’ll vote fot Antarctic Journal instead.

I have all three of these DVDs already, but I’d like to see a review of Crying Fist first, I think.

As for the future, is “Nambugun” a possibility at all?

  10. look4sheep 07/30/2005 @ 10:40pm

  11. Teresa 07/30/2005 @ 11:47pm

  12. Elusive 07/30/2005 @ 11:48pm

Bittersweet Life or Crying Fist. I didn’t order Antarctic Journal.

  13. ijaffery 07/31/2005 @ 12:48am

I’d love to hear some thoughts on Crying Fist as I believe it’s easily the best film of the three. Having said that I’d like a review for A Bittersweet Life simply because it left me feeling very neutral and I’d appreciate a little perspective from somoeone knowledgeable about film, especially the works of Ji-woon Kim. I was just shocked by how by-the-numbers it is, with an almost obligatory ambiguos ending.

First A bittersweet life. Then Crying fist.

  17. loonatik 07/31/2005 @ 3:10am

    Antarctic Journal.

I’ve already seen Crying Fist and A Bittersweet Life.

On second thought, I would also need a good review of A Bittersweet Life. The ending wasn’t very clear.
