   Well, not really interested with the remake, but if I was, then sure. That’s a pretty cool idea, entering the mainstream for Danny Boyle.

   Knowing him he said no, though.

   I say Danny Boyle doesn’t have to make remakes after he wins the Oscar for Best Picture and Best Director for Slumdog Millionaire.  Who does he think he is, Scorsese?  hehe.

   But I really don’t think he has to make remakes, he’s creative enough to come up with his own original visions.

   I remember this was announced as a Charlize Theron project last year…also, I see the ‘Hellraiser’ remake opens in NYC this week.

   NO.it’s not worse, it’s in the same league. I didn’t mind scorsese doing a infernal affairs remake cause the original wasn’t that good to begin with. but an US remake of LadyVengeance (or any movie of the trilogy…)...boooo.
   slumdog millionare is ok but in no way that brilliant the press makes us to believe. i would put it into “nice” arthouse-affair like Amelie.

   If the original film is perfect there is no point in a remake. The only thing andybody could find “wrong” about LADY VENGEANCE is that it is full of them Asians talking their weird moonspeak where you have to read text at the bottom. Hurrrrrrrrr!! I’m not against remakes at all. Just go and pick some films that could actually benfit from another go at the story or an update.

   And also, Infernal Affairs is not that good?  I’m sure you lapped up the over-the-topness of The Departed then…

    On a side note,

    I was over at the Celador website.  And it seems like they will be producing Centurion, a Roman era film, and it will be directed by Neil Marshall.  This has sweetness written all over it.  Even though I didn’t like Doomsday that much.  This might (hopefully) be his redemption.

    Celador produced Slumdog Millionaire, The Descent, Dirty Pretty Things and Who Wants to be a Millionaire.  Amazing track record.

    please no more remakes.  there’s nothing to be gained by replicating someone elses work.  the films have been made.  they stand well enough on their own.  there is no reason to reproduce them.

    if you can’t read subtitles we’ve got a problem.  again, there is never a good reason to remake a film ever.

    i love the entire vengeance trilogy. and, i do think they are close to perfect. it doesn’t surprise me hollywood wants to get they’re hands on it. it’s not like they can come up with/have any interest in making something original. any remake of these films will be terrible when compared to the originals. basically, if they’re sellin’ i ain’t buyin’.
