Dune
The impending release of the phenomenal A History of Violence (review here) is just over a week away. The film had its Toronto Gala presentation at this years TIFF last week, and while he didn’t show up for the fans (that is another matter) he has been talking to the media. Here is the status on some of his upcoming projects: The science fiction script for Pain Killers has been abandoned, as has that entire project. Instead, he will be working on his London Fields. After that he will direct Map to the Stars, which is a screenplay by novelist Bruce Wagner (who also did the spiffy 1993 VR-miniseries Wild Palms). The project is described as “an operatic ghost story” about a young boy who is the biggest TV star in America — and also a heroin addict.

Any Cronenberg news is good news.I’d watch him paint his house for 2hrs because I know somehow he’d make it interesting.
