The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
That’s volume 1 of 6, the first probably with a box and the RRP of each volume is just shy of $30. Running time for the first volume (125 minutes) suggests they’re splitting this to 5 episodes on two of the discs and four on each of the rest. This entire reissue has 5.1 sound and has been remastered visually also. Having not seen it or bought it before, but being aware that it still maintains a high place both American and Japanese anime fans Top 10 shows, I wouldn’t know (and can’t find) if ‘Remix’ in anyway suggests anything more than remixed sound - it’s not a reworking or alteration of the cut of the shows; the original Japanese TV airing was cut and edited, making it confusing.

Shouldn’t be any changes to the show itself. Just 5.1 sound and a better picture, as well as some extras from the new Japanese boxset (at least commentaries by the Japanese staff). There’s also a rumor that a tin box might be released with the last volume. There’s a pic of the set, taken from the Bandai September PDF, here: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/releases.php?id=4948
Personally I’m almost considering rebuying this even though I own the previous boxset. Still has the top spot in my animelist.

I’ve seen Cowboy Bebop, but don’t own the DVDs yet, so this will be a great opportunity for me to get them, just like the Evangelion Platinum releases were. Niiice.

Also forgot to mention that Bandai has some nice titles coming up in their new “Anime Legends” brand.
They are starting with the Escaflowne movie (which isn’t too good - watch the series instead), and more importantly Jin-Roh - and that is the OOP special edition that comes with two dvds, a booklet and the soundtrack for mere $19.98 SRP! Might have to pick this one up as well since the price is great.

I’m with Geert on this one… I’ve only got the first volume of the original Cowboy Bebop release, so I won’t be too out of sorts picking this up.

I agree - the Escaflowne film is not good. The perfect collection, however rocks the block. Just recently finished watching the complete ‘Vision of Escaflowne’ after seeing a few episodes here and there and it definatly hits within my top 5 anime series list.
Cowboy Bebop remastered? Nice! If I didn’t already own the perfect collection. Would be great, however I don’t need to shell out tons more cash for what I already have. But it does sound cool.
Hey, that photo is from The Movie (not a complaint)!

WOW you own the prefect collection box set. you’re lucky they only made like 10,000 of those.
But anyways I think that if you don’t own the series alredy you should pick this new one up for sure. Although there were a couple of sounds that they added to the dub I wish they hadn’t. like some of the gun sounds and stuff, but that’s splitting hairs and really doesn’t matter too much. Overall though it does sound better.
