Some very fun news here with word that the fantastic animated online short film Codehunters is being developed into a full length, live action feature film by producers Roy Lee (The Ring, The Departed) and Steve Barnett (300), screen writer Kyle Ward (Fiasco Heights), and the director of the original animated short, Ben Hibon.

Done right this could be a real gem, the story set in a post apocalyptic world ruled by a brutal dictator with the ability to capture children’s nightmares and bring them to life in reality.  The only hope is a lone man with the ability to directly manipulate DNA.  The short is available online and it’s pretty fantastic stuff.

Wow. I guess it was a year or two ago the trailer — I guess — came out. I always wondered what happened to it, because I thought it was meant to be a miniseries or something. Now I find there’s a whole film online, with a plot beyond smashing weird monsters and missiles.

I’m not sure how I feel. Obviously an animated series would be the best, or just animation. Because no American film has captured that frenetic action style, cept for Ultraviolet, but then that just had other problems going for it.

Otherwise this is awesome could be great.

If done properly, this might turn out to be something amazing! It would be really nice to see the full story fleshed out.

Wow, this is something I’ve been waiting for since I first saw that short.
Now, as Helu0302 said, an animated series would be more to my liking but I guess a live-action movie adaption is better than nothing.
