Clone Wars Trailer!

All right you geeks. We might be immune to most things that Hollywood throws our way but few of us can resist the lure of Star Wars, no matter how crappy the prequels were. To tie things up between the prequels George Lucas produced an animated series that aired on Cartoon Network with uber genius Genndy Tartakovsky at the helm. The series got great response, more so than the actual films they were bridging so I guess Lucas saw that he could continue with the Saga on TV so he began work on at least two series, one animated and one live action. Nothing much has been heard about the live action version but the animated series has been pretty public. Now it seems that Lucas and Co are going to release the “Pilot” in theaters (in 3D maybe?) next summer, or so I’m told and Starwars.com have just released a fat teaser to celebrate its imminent release. Titled Clone Wars the film and series has the same look of the prequels but with the stylized character look of the animated series. Looks pretty good and the animation seems solid.

I thought the whole point of the CN shorts was to tie the movies together. Is this just expanding on those stories during the same time frame or is it covering a different period completely?
