Rogue Pictures Presents THE UNBORN Now Playing

Hurray for Papa Luc! This hasn’t been officially announced anywhere yet - not that I’m aware of, anyway - so you’re going to have to take my word on this one and trust me when I say the person that told me is in a position to know. Word on the street is that Citizen Dog - the sophomore film from the director of Tears of the Black Tiger, which I adore - has had its international rights purchased by Luc Besson’s Europa Corp. So if you, like me, are lamenting the lack of English subs on the Thai DVD, buck up! Quality western editions are in the future! Huzzah!

Let’s hope Luc Be$$on won’t butcher this movie and add shitty rap into the soundtrack (like he did for Ong Bak)!
I hate Luc Be$$on, and I’m absolutely right!

Hurray! I was one of those suckers who bought the DVD without knowing that there weren’t any subtitles on it.

Yeah! My sub-less Thai disc will be replaced!!! And then sold off to an under-informed used record shop!!!!!!

Rock!
And how can you hate Luc Besson? If anything, he took the repetative Ong Bak score and replaced it with something that worked better for the film. Not only that, but the editing made the film better.

And he made the best Jet Li film in the west, Danny the dog.

Besson’s films don’t always do it for me, but he tends to champion good work, and gets things released over here in the states that would otherwise only be known to folks dedicated to their love of film like us. He deserves, as the kid say, props.

I side with you crazybee. Besson trimmed the fat from OB with the blessing of the Pratchya Pinkaew. The biggest complaint at the Toronto Film Fest screening was the repetitive Thai-techno score. And in the new edit they still respectively kept elements of the old score. Butcher is pretty harsh wording…
