Cerda’s The Abandoned Hits DVD June 19th

We’re big fans of Spanish director Nacho Cerda around here so it comes as good news that his feature debut The Abandoned will be hitting DVD in short order. According to Fangoria it’s likely to be a bare bones release but it’s coming soon, hitting shelves June 19th.

I was quite pissed when this played nowhere even close to me, so...’looking forward to giving it a spin on DVD. Cerda is an absolute genius in my book. I’ll never forget showing his film “Genesis” (one of the best short films ever made, IMHO) to a group of friends one night. It ended and everyone just sat there in kind of stunned silence for several minutes before finally someone spoke up and said, simply, “Wow.” ‘Never saw a film have quite the same effect on people.

Agree, Genesis is the most beautiful thing I ever saw. I’m really pissed I never got a chance to see his feature.
