Rogue Pictures Presents THE UNBORN Now Playing
Okay ... here we go with the Cannes stuff ... these are in no particular order beyond the order the films appear on the Cannes site ... I’m just working my way through the list ...
David Cronenberg’s A History of Violence ... the site is pretty much just a placeholder at the moment, but it’s up and it’s got a spot to sign up for notifications as content appears. You can hit a gallery of still shots from the film here.
Free Zone ... No trailer for this one yet, either, but the director mainstains a site and has a pair of still shots. I’m fairly certain that this is the film that had a lot of Jews angry at Natalie Portman for shooting a kissing scene by the wailing wall ...
Cache. No trailer for the latest from Michael Haneke yet, either - Cannes locks things up so early that this will likely be the case for most titles - but Allocine does have a couple still shots online here. Juliette Binoche stars ...
Battle In Heaven ... there’s an official site, but again it’s just a placeholder, though you can check out a synopsis and the poster image at the official production company site here.
Gus Van Sant’s Kurt Cobain flick Last Days DOES have a trailer online, but it takes a bit of fiddling here to get it ... click the little white box in the top right and then select film-announces ... it’s flash embedded, so no direct link, sorry ... that one via AICN ...
Lars Von Trier’s Manderlay we linked to yesterday, but here it is again.
Don’t Come Knockin’ ... Sony Classics has already picked up rights to the latest from Wim Wenders, but there’s nothing on their site for it yet. I did turn up a couple behind the scenes shots on a Tim Roth fan site here.
Again no trailer, but the production company for Chromophobia has a site for the film here with the official poster and a link to a solitary still shot.
Christian Carion’s Joyeux Noel is actually an ironically titled war film with an official site here.
The Movie Box has some stills from the Robert Downey Jr / Val Kilmer pic Kiss Kiss Bang Bang here ... Rope of Silicon’s got a couple here as well ...
Do I really need to link to A Bittersweet Life stuff again? Just do a search up above ... there’s loads of it and it’s glorious ...
Fatih Akin’s Crossing the Bridge has an official site loaded with press stills here and there’s a note there saying the full site will launch April 28th ... hopefully it’ll include a trailer then. This is the new flick from the director of Head On which I raved about not so long ago and I’m very curious to see what he does next ...
Adam Curtis’ The Power of Nightmares - a documentary examining the manipulation of fear for political gain has a fantastic site here ... no trailer or stills, but a lot of Q&A with Curtis himself ...
Seijun Suzuki’s Princess Raccoon is another we’ve been talking about for a while ... do a search above to find the trailer ...
No trailer, but the production copany site for Sangre is here and includes a synopsis, poster and a pair of stills ...
David Jacobson’s Down in the Valley has a killer cast with Ed Norton and David Morse but, alas, no web site. This Ed Norton fan page has a good summary and some still shots, though ...
Trust Film Sales has a solid page for Dark Horse, including a summary and a batch of high res stills ...
Tony Krawitz’s Jewboy has played previously at the Adelaide Film Festival and their summary is here.
Cidade Baixa was produced by Walter Salles, but beyond that I got nuthin’ ...
The King has got a poster and one sweet cast in Gael Garcia Bernal, William Hurt and Laura Harring ... Production company’s page is here.
Lengthy interview - in Hungarian - and some stunning stills from Johanna here.
It doesn’t want to load for me, but Francois Ozon has an official site here which will be your best bet for Le Temps Qui Reste info ...
A good selection of stills from Yellow Fella here.
I can’t find squat on Nordests and it’s making me crazy because this is the first feature from Juan Diego Solanas, the man behind stunning short film L’Homme Sans Tete. If you’ve not seen the short run, don’t walk, and pick up the Cinema 16 DVD of shorts out of the UK.
And, finally, a film with a full featured website, including a trailer - albeit a poorly Flash encoded one. Habana Blues.

Whoops ... just found some more ... the Celluloid Dreams site has pages for all the films they’re representing at Cannes, including still shots for each ... Lemming, L’Enfant, Bashing, Election, Kirikou And The Wild Beasts (has no idea they’d even made a sequel to Kirikou and the Sorceress, never mind that they were having a screening)and others ... check ‘em here ...
