Twilight Phantom
Here’s a name or two you might recognize: Wong Kar Wai, Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige, Hou Hsiao Hsien, Tsai Ming Liang, Kitano Takeshi, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Gus Van Sant, Roman Polanski, Olivier Assayas, Lars Von Trier, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Theo Angelopoulos, Andrei Konchalovsky, and Jane Campion. And that’s not even the complete list. What do they all have in common? They were all part of the Chacun Son Cinema project, a series of short films commissioned by the Cannes Festival to celebrate their recent anniversary. That’s too bad about the Coens short being omitted. But for my money, the Cronenberg piece makes the disc worth having.
