Accuracy of Death
R2 UK DVD due 1st of August 2005, same day as ‘Rock Profile’ with Matt Lucas and David Walliams. Anyway, this show does have Steve Pemberton from ‘The League of Gentlemen’ in it. All the various members of that cast, remembering it’s a show that’s pretty much been and gone, have moved on (largely) to other things. Reece Sheersmith is in the superb ‘Catterick’ with Matt Lucas, and Vin ‘n’ Bob. Forget exactly where else they all are, apart from in the film ‘Apocalypse’ and in the live stage show which tours the UK later this year.
This show, set in a Casino in Blackpool and written by BAFTA winner Peter Bowker, is one of those comedy dramas that they do so well in the UK. Todd says he has seen the first couple of episodes and wasn’t convinced. I only managed to catch snippets of it. It is however one of those shows of recent times that did pretty well and was well advertised or covered by the British Press. Generally a very well recieved show, but not a stellar success if you see what i mean. Worth checking out if you have an adventurous side to you.

Gatiss is busy like a madman thse days ... wiritng and film and stage stuff from all directions ... I don’t think the LEague is closing the book on continuing together but I’d be willing to bet there’s no more Royston Vasey in their future ...
But Blackpool ... really compellingly odd show ... I never quite found the rhythm of it but there’s something undeniably going on there ... it’s a weird comedy-drama-musical-cop-gambling-crime thing ... there’s is definitely nothing else like it in the world. Pemberton’s role - at least as far in as I got - is pretty slim ...
