Benh Zeitlin Returns With GLORY AT SEA!

We are big fans of indie production outfit Court 13 around these parts. We first came across them thanks to Benh Zeitlin’s very strange stop motion short Egg and then came across a pair of shorts by Ray Tintori, Death of the Tinman and Jettison Your Loved Ones. Basically we came to understand very quickly that if it’s got the Court 13 label on it it’s going to be both a little bit strange and very, very good. Well, Zeitlin is back with his latest and very likely his biggest film yet. Titled Glory At Sea, it is a Hurricane Katrina inspired piece about a man emerging from a watery hell determined to build a raft and return to save his lover. Photography on this is simply gorgeous and the picture won Zeitlin the Wholphin award at the just completed SXSW, so you know it’s good. Check the trailer below the break in the Twitch Player.

there’s been a lot of coverage on shorts lately and it’s had me wanting to see some. I don’t have much time after work to watch a full length movie so shorts would be perfect but aside from not having a clue of what is good I don’t know where to watch them aside from the internet. Are there any good DVD’s with multiple shorts on them and any recommendations?
