Below are a few odds and ends related to MonteCristo International LLC.
The official website for Ataru Oikawa’s horror movie Apartment 1303 is online, although at present it’s just a home page. According to this January 18th press release from MonteCristo International, Apartment 1303 was scheduled to “start Principal Photography in Tokyo in late April 2006. The Film has been pre-sold to Scandinavia, Italy, Spain, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea and Japan.”
Paul Spurrier‘s sequel to his horror movie P ( pี) is in pre-production; principal photography for it is tentatively scheduled to begin some time in the autumn of this year. The movie’s working title is “P2 - Unforgiven”. On the above left is a promo image for it.
There’s a downloadable English-subtitled trailer for Yegor Konchalovsky’s dramatic action-thriller Escape (Pobeg) on MonteCristo International’s website. Distribution rights for the movie are being offered for sale by MonteCristo International at the Marché du Film in Cannes. The movie is being screened at the Riviera 4 on Sunday May 21st at 2:00 p.m. (14:00). Central Partnership (Kinokompaniya Tsentral Partnership) released it theatrically in Russia on March 31st of last year.
Here’s a synopsis for Escape from Central Partnership’s English-language website: “Yesterday Yevgeny Vetrov lived in a different world. He had money, a spotless reputation, the respect of his colleagues, and - most importantly - love. But, as it turns out, he also had enemies.On the day Yevgeny signs an important contract with his American investors, someone murders his wife. There are no witnesses, and the evidence all points to Vetrov. After a speedy trial, he is convicted. Now, his only chance is to escape. Vetrov decides to return to Moscow. He must carry out his own investigation and get revenge on the killer.”
