Rogue Pictures Presents THE UNBORN Now Playing

Oh sweet good lord, it seems that Mr. Uwe Boll is at it again and this time he’s brought Christian Slater, Tara Reid and Stephen Dorff - what, were Robert Downey Jr. and Eric Roberts not available - along for the plane crash disaster of a movie “Alone in the Dark”. Boll continues his obsession with video game adaptations here with “Alone in the Dark” looking like a big old cross of Aliens, Pitch Black and Starship Troopers. But worse. I would rank it right up with the fine cinematic flavour of Ghosts of Mars.
So you want to marvel at the fact that Uwe continues to find work, well then step right up and follow the links. You can view the trailer here and then jump over to the website here (full of stills and downloads but no production notes - why?), but you might want to take a second between the two, pausing to remember if you could ever take Stephen Dorff or Christian Slater seriously. Deuces Wild? Windtalkers? Exactly.

As much as this film will probably suck the biggest ass it does sport a pretty nifty poster.

this looks ok, but doesn’t look anything like the games in anyway. Alone in the dark with a full on Swat team

See the Doom videogame translation to screenplay to get an idea how this went from “lone fellow goes into house and is attacked by walking dead” to..“s.w.a.t vs. zombies”.
I liked the Ghosts of Mars Comment a lot…funny stuff…it is just a bit sad that Ghosts of Mars is a tragic footnote in the career of Mr. Carpenter.

Dear Nick:
Take more time with your copy. It reads amateurish. Thanks.
Nick 01/09/2005 @ 8:45pm
thanks sam. though, in my defence, I had a wicked hangover when I wrote this. but I’ll try and hook you up with the good shit next time.

Kurt. There are no zombies in this one. It reeked of The Relic only this time there are more creatures.
Nick 01/10/2005 @ 5:11am
yes, the Relic. How did I forget about that one. It totally has the funk of Tom Sizemore and company.

What the hell is wrong with Christian Slater and Stephen Dorff?
