TLA RELEASING ACQUIRES
I DREAMT UNDER THE WATER
A savage drama about a man’s search for love, leading him into the dark sexual underbelly of Paris
(Philadelphia, PA/London UK, November 1, 2007)  TLA Releasing has acquired all rights for United States, English-speaking Canada,  and United Kingdom to I DREAMT UNDER WATER (J’ai rêvé sous l’eau)  (France, 2008), written and directed by Hormoz. The film is currently in post-production and will be released in 2008 through the TLA Releasing label.
TLA acquired the film from Paris-based sales company WIDE Management; WIDE was represented by Manager Loïc
Magneron; TLA Releasing was represented by Vice President of Acquisitions Jennifer Arndt-Johns. The deal was finalized at the 2007 American Film Market (AFM).
“I DREAMT UNDER THE WATER represents the unique qualities of French cinema to tell a fresh story” said TLA Releasing’s Jennifer Arndt-Johns. “We know the film’s themes of tolerance and self-discovery will resonate with today’s contemporary audiences.”
I DREAMT UNDER THE WATER (J’ai rêvé sous l’eau) focuses on Antonin (Hubert Benhamdine), a young man on the quest for love in northern Paris and its adjoining suburbs. Urban and nocturnal in nature, Antonin embraces the vibrant energy of the city which can lead to some rough, carnal and violent experiences. Through his experiences he also finds tenderness, support and loyalty from those when he least expects it; showing him humanity’s ability to give a helping hand to one another. “I DREAMT UNDER WATER is a co-production of TLA Releasing, WIDE Management and Triskel Film,” said Loïc Magneron of WIDE Management. “The partnership of all three companies, represents the internationally universal appeal of the film, which is tolerance of all aspects of love.”
I DREAMT UNDER THE WATER marks the feature film debut of Hormoz. The film is based his short film of the same title, with the same cast in the feature film.
