Troubled Water Troubled Water

A Trailer For DEADGIRL

The trailer for Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel’s Deadgirl has been an elusive creature, appearing and disappearing from the film’s official website in time with the film’s appearances at various festivals.  Which, I suppose is a good thing for those quick enough to realize it’s there and check it out but can be frustrating for others.  And so I’ve asked co-director Sarmiento if we could give the thing a permanent home here at Twitch, a proposition that - happily - he has agreed to.  So, if you’re wondering what the buzz is about you can now take your first look in the Twitch Player below the break.

Very excited for this one. I just hope this doesn’t turn out to be another “Teeth.” What a stinking piece of turd that was. I want something dark, smart, and very fucked up that doesn’t pull its punches and go for comedy the way teeth did.

Does this film still have buzz? With a few exceptions I haven’t heard many good things at all from people who saw it at Toronto. My guess is the filmmakers and distributors are keeping things close to the vest to maintain interest since once mainstream reviews start coming in they’re not going to be helpful.

The movie is pretty so-so.  It’s quite funny, but doesn’t have much more to say than that.  Great One-Sheet though.
