Tokyo: Skies
We’ve been following the work of young Filipino film maker Chuck Gutierrez around these parts for quite a while now, consistently drawn in by his stellar eye behind the camera. The guy just shoots great film, which makes his stuff a pleasure to watch. Well, Chuck’s at it again and while he’s not really saying much about plot line for his latest - a film described as a “long short” titled Paradiso - the freshly released trailer is, once again, loaded up with stellar visual. Very, very nice.

Man that IS beautiful isn’t it!
It amazes me how he manages to capture moments on film that seem so REAL and organic. As if you were eavesdropping on real events and not actually watching a film. Like you’re actually there and not in a dimly lit theater. Great stuff! AND it’s only a trailer! Hopefully I’ll get to see it state-side some time.
Here’s hopin’…

Thanks dude. Really appreciate your comment. I’m in a middle of post-production for this flick. We will be releasing this by mid April on-line. Hopefully, you can catch it by then. I wish we can show this on theaters somehow soon. I can only imagine how people will feel just by watching this on the big screen.
Cheers!

Ah! Then I will be able to catch it, albeit on a smaller screen than it deserves.
I’m not entirely sure how this kind of stuff (distribution and such) works but, who knows, maybe someone will put it up on the big screen for you. I know the local art house I haunt often shows pretty obscure stuff from time to time.
Either way, it looks fantastic and I’ll be sure to spread the word when it’s up online. Get the old grassroots thing going!
Take care and all the best!
