Without a doubt one of the high points of my film year in 2008 has been being a part of the group that brought Studio 4C’s stellar anthology films Genius Party and Genius Party Beyond to screen here in Toronto at the Worldwide Short Film Festival, just the second time they had ever been seen outside of Japan. Studio 4C is, to my mind, one of the greatest animation houses in the world and they allowed their directors an unparalleled degree of freedom in creating this short films and the results are stunning.  But don’t just take my word for it.  Back in April we posted the first trailer for Genius Party Beyond and now my thanks go out to Don at Quiet Earth for pointing out a brand new, second trailer for the project.  You’ll find both trailers below the break.

Have either of these seen a DVD release yet?

First one has, but no subtitles.  Don’t think this one even goes theatrical in Japan until October.

Todd, I have to get this off my chest ...

Why do you always drop the “°” in Studio 4°C ???
In that way, aren’t you, not in a small degree, kinda missing the point of their Company Name ?

Mostly because I’ve never bothered to look up the ASCII code for it.
