A Second Sequel For THE HOST? In China?

It’s strange but true, kids. The Korean sequel to Bong Joon Ho’s hit monster film The Host is a well known fact at this stage, with the film well into the preproduction process and getting ready to go. But today news of a second sequel arrived and this is a bit stranger. Much like Shaolin Girl served as an officially sanctioned Japanese continuation of Stephen Chow’s Hong Kong hit Shaolin Soccer there is now a Chinese sequel to The Host in the works as well. Original production house Chungeorahm Films is still involved but Ning Hao’s Stoneman Films is taking the lead on it and the film will include an entirely Chinese cast. Release is expected in 2009.
