A Proper Nine Minutes Promo Reel and New Trailer for John Woo’s RED CLIFF

Back in late May, Todd posted a nine minute promo reel for John Woo’s highly anticipated summer blockbuster event Red Cliff (aka The Battle of Red Cliff), taken from Chinese web-portal Sina.com but it was a lousy cam-job, a damn shame for a high profile film of this caliber to be presented this way.  Fortunately for us, we uncover a clear video quality of the promo reel (no english subtitles) as well as a second trailer (english subtitles included).  Take a look to fully appreciated the grand scale of this breathtaking epic and I DO mean epic in every sense of the word!

The first part of Red Cliff will be theatrically release across Asia on July 10th while the second part will follow at the end of 2008.  You’ll find the promo reel and two trailers on our Twitch player below after the break.

Its amazing to think that the last movie John Woo directed was the very pedestrian “Paycheck”. I’m so glad he’s made this, it’s going to put him back at the top of the pack. I’m refraining from watching the promo reel for now. I’ve waited long enough to see some classic Woo so a few more months is fine.

The movie looks pretty epic and certainly puts Warlords to shame. Looking foward to it.

Warlords was pretty damn awesome too. But I do agree, Red Cliff is definitely looking EPIC in every sense of the word.

    Please don’t suck.

It does look epic, i just hope is not an epic suck-fest. I mean, it just CAN’T be. Either Woo pulls this one or better retired from doing movies.

The trailer to John Woo’s The Battle Of Red Cliff looks phenominal...Hopefully there will be a US theatrical release

I am pretty sure there will be a US release in December or sometime when the 2nd part has already been released in Asia. We get some butchered cut of the 2 parts made into one movie while in Asia they get the real deal: all 4 hours of it.

cpa314, Thank You for answering my question on a possible US release.
