Hello everybody, i’m another recent addition to the Twitch team as a brazilian correspondent and i’ll start with a great announcement: the 30th São Paulo International Film Festival will take place between Oct 20th and Nov 2nd .

In a year of presidential election in Brazil, the Festival will give focus to the political cinema, with a section devoted to italian political films from 60’s and 70’s, with the presence of brazilian actress Florinda Bolkan and screenings of movies from the period by Ettore Scola, Elio Petri, Bernardo Bertolucci, Damiano Damiani, the Taviani Brothers, among others.

Bolkan will also be part of the jury, along with Wolfgang Becker, Jorge Sánchez, Bahman Gohbadi, Lauro Escorel, Contardo Calligaris and José Maria Prado. The main competition, focused on new directors with no more than 3 completed films, will include Joey Lauren Adams’ Come Early Morning, Aaron J.
