Only so many shows that are relatively recent in terms of British Comedy that are worth mentioning. This is one, and I hadn’t realised the DVD of the first series had already been released. Noticed someone talking about its Official Site over at KFC, and it contains loads of clips and other information.
Sean Lock gets my vote as the best stand-up in the UK at the moment, and possibly the best for at least the last decade. He may seem slow at first, and this show in which he features is certainly slow, subtle and very very strange - but the man has a great mind for observation and often pulls out jokes from the top of his head that will just amaze you with their insight. Plus I can’t help laughing at practically everything he says, and that’s not something I can say about anyone else in comedy at the moment.
Now, the only other show I think worth pointing out is ‘The Smoking Room’ (in terms of recent shows). No sign of that yet.
