Full details of the 22nd Leeds International Film Festival, taking place in the UK from 4 to 16 November 2008, are now available on-line: http://www.leedsfilm.com

I’ve pulled together details of all the Japanese films (anime and live-action) being shown and published them on the NanimeW website: http://www.NanimeW.Org.UK/events/2008/1103

I’ll definitely be checking out Sword of the Stranger, Mind Game (really looking forward to seeing this on the big screen) and 20th Century Boys.

I want to see Detroit Metal City and Dream, shame I’m in London.

I’ll be going to see (for sure, as I’ve already got my tickets for them) Sita Sings the Blues on Saturday this week and the animated short films international competition on Wednesday next week. Possibly KiNETIKA!: Sector 16 as well, depends whether I can bothered to go the Barry Purves retrospective at the Bradford Animation Festival earlier that day… At the moment I’m thinking not, mainly because I have no one to cling onto during the more visceral parts of films (as all my friends are too occupied with the Leeds stuff still going on during that day and have no idea who Barry Purves even is despite how much I go on about Screen Play in particular).

I too have done much the same as Happosai on my anime society’s forum – http://www.leedsanime.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=22664#p22664 – though mine also includes other animation and other East Asian films.
