Hoahio - Ohayo!
Russian Circles - Enter
Breather Resist - Charmer
Minus the Bear - Menos El Oso
Sweep the Leg Johnny - Sto Cazzo
Stars of the Lid - And Their Refinement of Decline
Rosetta - The Galilean Satellites
still not much new stuff. I’ve gone back to the last album of the Knife again this week and am still not tired of the Long Blondes debut album. Also still digging most of the (experimental) doom metal I discovered a while back. Khlyst, Khanate and Sunn O))) make some of the most amazing music I’ve heard in a while. Scary stuff, but good scary stuff. Listening to the Khlyst album on headphones brings so much images to the mind it’s like watching a horror movie (one of the best movies in the genre I’ve “seen” for a while btw )
I am so into this ‘older’ music that I hardly have listened to the new björk album yet (seeing her live a few months ago was amazing though) but I will make time for the new Radiohead album, which is FINALLY coming!!
House of Cards could be one of my fav Radiohead tracks of all time. Also loving: All I Need, 15 Step, Jigsaw Puzzle Falling Into Place, Bodysnatchers, Nude......the whole album really.
Other stuff:
Future of the Left - Curses
Deer Tick - War Elephant
and back into Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
The soundtrack to “Haibane Renmei”.
It arrived today and is lovely, one of my favorite tunes turns out to betwice as long as I thought (only the first half is used in the series).

Yeah, it’s a great album. Probably the best since Ok Computer. They’ve taken the best elements from Kid A and Amnesiac and thrown away the few things that didn’t work so well (at times they were a bit too experimental for my taste).
If I had to use one word to describe the record it would be: beautiful.
Amusement Parks On Fire - Out of the Angeles
Polysics - Karate House
Sleeping People - Growing
Kill Sadie - Experiments In Expectation
Ai Aso - Chamomile Pool
it’s a good album but I’m not completely absorbed in it yet.
my favorites at first listening are “weird fishes/arpeggi” and “all i need”.
“all i need” seems to have a lot of Boards of Canada influence and it’s known that Thom is a BOC fan too.
i guess 2007 has been a good year. Tori Amos, Björk, PJ Harvey and Radiohead, they all released new albums and they’ve all been kicking ass for more than a decade now. wow.

i never really had a problem with ‘kid a’ and ‘amnesiac’ because i’d been listening to the stuff that thom yorke’s influenced by for
many years before that, so it wasn’t an uncomfortable leap for my ears… lots of fans didn’t like those songs, but the ‘bends’ stuff
is a little too traditional and straight-forwards in musical terms, even if it’s a damn good example of musical tradition done
in a relatively fresh way. ‘in rainbows’ i can’t quite get my head around, because it’s almost as though they’re backtracking on the
influences a little, toning things to more traditional instruments.

Underworld has a new album too and it’s pretty good. Better than the last one, at least.
Also been listening to the new UNKLE album along with the brand new Venetian Snares, along with some old school Prodigy and Frontline Assembly (CanCon!). Film related aside: I just watched the video for Mindphaser and it apparently takes clips from a Japanese sci-fi flick called ‘Gunhead’. Anyone heard of it before?
Haven’t had a chance yet to listen to all of In Rainbows. Reckoner is my favorite so far.
I’m going to be in the car 20+ hours driving this week, so going to make a mad dash to a music store to get some new music. I keep hearing this Sea Wolf song on Left on Center on Sirius that has me interested in more from this band. I don’t have the new Sunset Rubdown and I’ve lost the Arcade Fire Funeral album so many times now, I need to get another copy and burn it and make copies
Any good new albums I should pick up please let me know. While sometimes driving without music is a good thing on endless road trips, other times it can be a bit much.
One odd note of road trip, it seems in my experience as soon as a great song comes on or I start singing along, there is always some idiot in front of me that nearly causes a wreck.
Malcolm Middleton - A Brighter Beat
* We’re All Going to Die… Alone
Turzi - A
* Heard about this for awhile now. Haven’t gotten any of the others from this label that Air somehow is over. Anything else anyone recommends in this regard?
Sea Wolf - Leaves in the River
* So far so good. I’m nervous checking out the rest of the songs because You’re a Wolf is such a great song.
