Over at IGN there is a trailer for what appears to be a Legend of Zelda movie adaptation.

Turns out it was an elaborate (and I do mean that in the fullest sense of the word) April Fool’s hoax, but damn - this thing actually looks very good!

Don’t believe me, go look for yourself…

Crap. They sunk some money into this one big time.

That was terrific.
Lots of love must have been put into that, especially considering it’s just a joke. Astonishingly they found an actor who could be a semi-believable Link too!

Yeah I saw that too and thought it was pretty cool. Ok, Link’s green pointy hat looks a little dopey in live action, but still, I think Hollywood could take an example from this in that there’s no reason you can’t stay true to source material.

Yeah, my son’s a HUGE Zelda fan - he had a Zelda themed birthday party yesterday - and he loved this.  Anybody else notice it was done by the director of The Ore?

I didn’t notice about the director, but that is interesting. It certainly impressed the crap out of me and so did The Ore.

I pretty much this up for you son, btw, I knew about his fascination with Zelda! : )

Glad he enjoyed it.

The thing was well produced and obviously done by people that love the franchise…but who could possibly be fooled by that? And I mean that besides the fact that it was released on the 1st. It’s like a cross between Zelda and Lord of the Rings with worse effects. Still impressive for a faux trailer, but not great.
