Our previous forum had a meet and great thread, and consider this a spot to remind folks who you are, what you like, or anything else under the sun that will stimulate conversation, debate and other things film (or books, music, media) related.

(Old Forum “Who Are You” thread:  http://twitchfilm.net/forum/index.php?topic=74.0)

--

In the old forum, I used to go as “Triflic” but since it is one registration for Main site and Forum, I’m now going under my real name.

I’m the guy who spends far too much time in the TWITCH forum, and occasionally posts reviews or news on the main page.

I don’t do much posting on Twitch—usually just TIFF reviews in payment for Todd’s hospitality, and the odd article here and there.  I handle much of the behind-the-scenes stuff, such as the recent redesign, and field technical/geeky questions.

Offspring: 0
Spouse: 0
Dayjob: Research Analist (at a University lab that investigates cardiac failure… it’s bio-molecular work mostly)
Origin: Dutch
At this Exact Moment: Utrecht, Netherlands
Last Theatre Visit: Harry Potter (almost ashamed to admit, haven’t liked a single one of the Potter movies yet)
Last DVD: watched: Clash of the Titans bought: Mother and Son (Artificial Eye)
Last CD listened to: My own “120 minutes” best of the 90’s mix-tape: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O5SPFZTL
Last Two Novels: Dark Materials trilogy (a while back already, have been catching up on comic-books since)
Cinema Tastes: I prefer the cinema above any other movie format. Sadly the cinema experience has been getting worse since the mobile phone boom. A festival experience is the best. I like art-house (the IFFR) and genre (the AFFF). Between that I watch a lot of Hollywood fare (I love cgi and special effects), a lot of Japanese cinema and a lot of B-movies (mostly on the video format ofcourse). My taste range from the most minimal and experimental art, to glossy melodramatic formulas, to extreme exploitation with cheesy acting. The only thing I don’t really go for is “a good story”. I like it, but if I want a real good story I read a book. cinema for me is a visceral experience… or something like that grin
Hanging around Twitchfilm: For a while now, don’t really know. I have been active in the forum for about a year or so, I think, and reading the frontpage regularly long before that.

Last DVD: In The Dark ... its a low budget “Blair Witch” style horror movie, I am meant to review this, but I wish they had not sent it to me, because I would pretty much put Blair Witch as one of the least interesting viewing experiences I have ever had. So I’m not a good person to try and get to recommend that kind of thing.

Hanging around Twitchfilm: I don’t think I’ve ever posted in the forums before and maybe only commented on the main site once or twice, but I think I been checking out Twitch for a couple of years.
