Hi All,

I have a friend who as asked me to sell an old VHS he has, its called ‘The beast in heat’. He believes its quite rare and is hoping to get some good money for it.

I had a quick look on ebay (in the completed listings) but it looks like nobody has sold it before on there? I also had a quick look on the net to see if anybody knows what sort of price this would go for but can only seem to find references for a ‘Hundreds of pounds’, which isnt really specific.

After a while, I fopund this forum so thought i would ask if anybody on here would be interested or if they know of a site i can advertise the vhs film to get maximum exposure to the right people?

Thanks in advance.

dvdmaniacs.net is a good forum for such things. other than that, guess a reserve and stick it on ebay.

Richribbon,

“The Beast in Heat” was actually mentioned in our forum topic about VHS-tapes, here:

VHS review corner.

Apparently the Betamax of this film is considered to be something like the Holy Grail! Post your question in that topic and fear the response you’ll get! There are some VHS-maniacs in there who might be interested…

The UK Beast in Heat is a collector item for those who collect VHS “pre-certs” and “nasties”. The pre-cert forum is the place where you can find most of them smile You have to register to get access to the forum but this is a very simple procedure. I suggest putting the tape up at eBay (include the word pre-cert in the description and be sure to make pictures of the sleeve ánd the tape, the labels on the tape are very important for collectors) and then announcing your eBay listing on the pre-cert forum (there is a special section for that on the forum so you will definitely get the maximum attention).

you can also check out other sections on the forum to get a better estimation of it’s possible value as record prices of the nasties are regularly discussed. Depending on the quality of the tape and how many people are looking for it at the moment (there seem to be a lot of new collector’s this year so I think it is a good time to sell!) you could get 200 GBP or higher… I think… but I am not an expert on pre-certs

ofcourse if it’s not the UK tape demand and prices will be lower, but still good.

I’m not sure who this poster is but they were obviously looking to get this tape on the cheap as the Pre Cert market is doing fine and dandy with a lot of new collectors pushing up prices (especially for the Video Nasties).

It’s a bit late now I know but BiH has been on eBay but it’s one of these tapes that have been copied/pirated and usually sparks a lot of debate about authenticity on the Pre Cert forum (to which I am a member). The forum is a good site but if you are unsure of prices then I wouldn’t advise selling on there as some members on there are keen to say the least and would have no qualms about getting something off you way below it’s usual asking price.
