nredding - September 2, 2007, 3:41pm

I got my email at 10 am Sunday morning.

I got 40/44.

Those are pretty good results.  What box were you in?  Which ones did you not get if you don’t mind?

I still have yet to receive anything.  I was in Box 62.

I dont’ know which box I was in. I am out-of-town and my order form would have gone in some time Friday morning.

I failed to get JAR CITY, THE COUNTERFEITERS, LE DEUXIÈME SOUFFLE, and WITH YOUR PERMISSION.

I’ll post my tentative schedule up as soon as I’ve sorted it out (box 44 = missed choices!)

As for MEETING UP...a nice little tradition which was started a couple years ago and will likely be continued here, is the Pre-MidnightMadness 10pm (ish) - 11:30pm (ish) TWITCH PUB NIGHTS at the IMPERIAL (Dundas/Victoria)

Kurt,

Are you watching all these or is this still a tentative list?  Just wondering how you watch two movies at the same time.

Wish I could get into the industry screenings.

Heh.  for some of the screenings it is first-come-first serve, so If I don’t get into the first one, I have an alternate.  We’ll see how that goes.

I’m thinking I’ll be in the neighborhood of 40 or so films when all is said and done.  a little higher than the past few years…

If you look on their website now, a lot of films which were unavailable yesterday are now available.

Question…

I got two Visa Screening Room tickets and I was wondering what sort of perks make this worth double the price of a regular TIFF ticket?

Other than watching the film in the beautiful elgin theatre, there isn’t any perks.  They don’t even do Q&As;there.  If you like star hunting (not my cup of tea), I supposed there is the red carpet thing and the stars on stage prior to screening, other than than, an Elgin evening screening is actually less nice than a regular screening.

Actually if you have a gold or platinum Visa card, you can goto the Visa Lounge before the screening.  Its located in the lower level of the theatre.  They serve some complimentary snacks there and you can buy drinks.  The best part is they let you into the theatre before the regular lineup.  The Lounge didn’t used to be open for afternoon screenings but maybe they changed it now that they jacked the prices up.

You know, for a few years there, they used to give out the beer for free.  I think they stopped that last year or two...there is a tradition that they should start up again.  Although 2-3 free beers did me no favours whatsoever at the STEAMBOY screening, i was borderline napping at more than one point...partly from the booze, partly from the bloated film....smile
