Just wondering if anyone saw “The Passage” at TIFF (or elsewhere)? It’s an… interesting film. It surprised me as I wasn’t expecting much but the slow buildup to the tense moments in the end was very nearly perfect. And the tension and suspense and mystery near the end of the movie is SO GOOD. Better than any cheap-thrill gore film I’ve seen lately (*cough*Mother of Tears*cough*)

So far, it’s my favourite “surprise” of the festival.

LOVED! the tunnel sequence, and the overall cinematography.  The lead actress was beyond gorgeous and a great actress to boot.  Heck, that’s probably Stephen Dorff’s best performance of his career.

However, the fiml was so painfully obvious from start to finish, that all the fine executions of one scene to the next couldn’t save it.  I’m already looking forward to Heller’s next project based on the technical aspects of the film.
