Finally some news about the 2008 Asian Film Festival of Dallas.  This message was sent to me from their mailing list:

“This year’s Closing Night film is BE A MAN! SAMURAI SCHOOL. We are super excited to bring our members an inside scoop about our special guest for Closing Night:

Director/lead actor of the film, TAK SAKAGUCHI (VERSUS, DEATH TRANCE) will be in attendance!

Here are some of the other films we have confirmed so far:

THE REBEL (Vietnam)
TOKYO GORE POLICE (Japan)
THE CASE (China)
For more information and updates about the lineup and schedule, please check back our website http://www.affd.org

We look forward to seeing you at the festival!”

Sounds cool to me.  Also not confirmed and just speculation on my part, but I heard something about Help Me Eros and maybe Mr. Cinema.  It will be cool to see Tak Sakaguchi!

Wish I could be there!
“Be a Man” seems like a lot of fun, and seeing something like that with the director present is certainly an event worth visiting.

Bored, so I’m posting some of the new banners that AFFD posted for people to spread around.  They have only announced 4 films, so I wanted to see if anyone knows what these are:

Last one is definitely Muy Thai Chiya; the one above it probably is too. I cannot help but think the first one is Kung Fu Dunk but that is a guess.

This will be fun, I’ve only seen a couple of those.  I’ll probably catch all of them again this year.
