New page, new recap: we play with three movies.

Number one: Kurt’s mystery entry, with three pictures:

Number two: Bench2020 guessed “The Bare-Footed Kid” so he has the right to give us a new film to guess (or to declare a FREE-FOR-ALL).

Number three: mine, with two screenshots (and it ain’t “Deep Rising”).

Quite effective, isn’t it?
Would have made a hell of a one-sheet, “Mussalat”-style, although recognizing the person in the shot would give away a big spoiler.

To be honest the original shot was a lot bigger, and scrutinizing it scared me more than its brief inclusion in the film did! Strangely enough this scene features two monsters: a big one and a throwaway small one.
This shot features the throwaway small one.

Oh well, just for you then, Kurt: the original.

Another one for mine.
As you could probably guess from the previous screenshots, this film has quite some red in it:

I got it - that’s an undead Michelle Rodriguez, and it’s Resident Evil.

I knew I would have seen it from the first two shots. There isn’t a fists-in-metal-door-bloodied-men-looking-moody film I haven’t seen.

Right, and right again! cheese
I don’t get why people hate this film so much. Sure, it’s not the most difficult film to punch holes in, but there are quite a number of sequences in it which work fine.

Holy crap I’m dumb. I thought it was Michelle Rodriguez and I checked her IMDb page but couldn’t find any zombie/undead type film on there.

Obviously I didn’t look close enough.

I’ll have to watch it again. I thought it was OK, but it felt a little light when compared to similar films which were coming out at the time. Never saw the sequel, except the last 15 mins which I thought looked pretty bad.  That said, I really want to see the 3rd one. Part of me really wants Russell Mulcahy to do well - and I have no idea why.

So I think I have two outstanding now after ‘Resident Evil’ and ‘The Barefooted Kid’.  I’ll post one a bit later, but for the other one…... FREE-FOR-ALL!!! smile

I seem to have blocked out most memory of this film.  my recall is limited to toned Jovovich and zombie dogs.

Love the Rodriguez pic though.

Not “29 Palms”, but good thinking.
