oooooh - is it ‘Below’? Think I recognise Jason Flemyng there and only watched the film a couple of months ago. Don’t remember the scary bit before the manata rays though. What happened again?

It is indeed ”Below”.

That is also Jason Flemyng and points to Logboy for spotting the fact he’s wearing German regalia (although they’re not his in the movie).

The real scary hits a bit after the mantas, but the one that charged the camera (between my first two screenshots) did make me jump. Harmless critters and quite beautiful really, but still…

Also the “dead german under your bed"-trick that Jason is laughing about got to me a bit, and that also precedes the mantas.

Quite a good film actually, much underseen and underappreciated. Strange that a collaboration between post-"Pitchblack" David Twohy and Darren Aronofsky (who wrote the script) never got any attention when it was released…

Interesting guess Ard.  The film shot definitely has that monochrome blue-grey palette.

Yeah but I’m sure there’s no gun in Snake. Shit I’m sure I’ve seen this, I just can’t place a name to the guy on the right!

Both actors are famous in their country, internationally perhaps the guy on the left is better known. It isn’t “Snake of June”, but there is a definite silvery-blue hue to the film. See?.....

Googling for “blue movies” doesn’t quite net me the result I was after…
