Advent Pieces boxset -

As far as extras, that is one gorgeous box set.  Sooner or later I’ve got to get around to actually checking out the film.

The special Hong Kong edition of “A Chinese Odyssey” that I picked up a few years back

A few years back I started to get interested in old Stephen Chow movies. This I found in the imported section at one of my local Asian movies and stuff stores. anyhow, as you can see you get a lovely booklet with high quality shots in form of a comic book, some close ups and collages (same as on the DVD-covers), and at the end, voilĂ ! A nice fold out poster (the booklet is about 60p.)
I hope this is worthy of this awesome thread^^

Nice one, fetch fox!

My wife got me this for my birthday: “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” UE 3-disk!

The outer box:

How it opens:

The contents:

The contents spread out:

The discs contain all versions of the movie (just like with the “Blade Runner” briefcase) and the version overview schedule has the original one-sheet on the flipside.

Last evening KajinoP and I had to interview Aramaki Shinji, the director of “Appleseed” and “Appleseed: Ex Machina”.

So how do you prepare for such a thing?
Well, you bring a marker pen and the Appleseed steelbook edition, that’s how!

It’s a rotten job, but someone’s gotta do it! cheese
Seriously though, I’d never done an interview before and was nervous as hell.

I’m sure you did a great job on that interview Ardvark^^

Well, this is my new Deadwood box, the safebox edition. It just got out and it doesn’t seem to be out anywhere ells then certain places in Europe (more precisely, the North, being Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway, with the last being my spot). I’m not a hundred percent on this, but it sure looks that way.
Anyhow, watch and drool: (Promotional Shot)

One heck of a cool boxset for one of my favorite series.

Truly sweet.  Any chance of an e-store link?

Holy shit fetch fox,

If you had posted those stills a few days earlier I would have mentioned this edition in my Twitch-O-Meter!

Best series box I’ve seen yet I think…

i thought that was a packet of cigarettes, until i put two and two together (chips, gambling chips, chips, gambling chips) and realised it’s a deck of playing cards! doh!

yesterday, i was browsing YesAsia, and decided to place the Troy Ultimate Edition box set in my wishlist. and while i browsed some more, i suddenly noticed, right before my eyes, the price had dropped from $39.90 to $18.99! that was drastic, so i placed my order immediately. then i texted my friend about it. but after just a few hours, when he got home and wanted to place his order, the price was back up to $39.90!

boy, was i lucky.

My first thought didn’t note my box as holy, but I guess it is. And Ardvark, it’s a shame, but even if I wanted to, I couldn’t have posted it as the day I bought it was the day it was released. I got the “fresh” limited, so to speak, as they only had two of it.

TJ, I looked around, but all I could find was stores in Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian. If you understand any of these languages, woppy. Otherwise, I’m sorry.

an e-store is an e-store is an e-store.  I’ve managed to muddle around a few European ones before - any direct link would be great if you have one.

thanks ;p

The Harry Potter Years 1-5 gifset. Initially I had decided to hold off on grabbing the films until the series was done…but heh you know how it is. What I like about this box is that they’ve left room for another couple of DVDs, namely the last two films when they come out. By that time they’ll probably release an even fancier box but I’m not bothered, cause this’ll be outta print by then and no doubt more the collector’s item of the two.

Even though I’m not a big fan of the Harry Potter movies, that box is gorgeous. Love the design of it all.

If only I was sure they’d release the last two Potter movies in a similar “schoolbook” packaging, I’d buy that box in a heartbeat…
