Wow. Just a few minutes late. I might as well toss in a couple more to complement Peter’s great job (I think mine are even worse between the poor lighting and lack of decent background surface).
Talk about a limited edition! Only 102,999 more out there—get yours while they last! ;p
And while I had my camera out, I figured, why not take a few shots of some other goodies I got in the mail this week.
Desert Punk R1 Box set. None of the photos bring it out as well as I’d like, but this is a NICE tin. The embossing/raised cover is beautiful (there’s probably a better term for it, but it escapes me at the moment).
The Korean R3 SE of The Banquet (already posted in this thread perhaps?)
Nice spread, Tuan Jim. Been considering Desert Punk for a while and those shots have considerably boosted my interest. I may have to use some Xmas sheckles to get it.
Also what’s the story with the Ridley letter on the BR case guys? Back when details were trickling out the word was the briefcase editions had hand signed letters, but that one looks the same as the regular un in the 5 disc case.
Grrrr....
Amazon just confirmed my two Blade Runner briefcases (one for a colleague) have been lost in the mail. Another two will be sent, sorry for the inconvenience.
Anyway, here is an oldie: the LE director’s cut of “Steamboy”. Believe it or not, this edition is Dutch!

The inside unfolded:
This edition contains the director’s cut, a Japanese comic book, a booklet with the translation for the Japanese comic book, several postcards…
But the best thing in here is the sketchbook. It doesn’t look too thick but the pages are thin and there are hundreds of sketches, many of them showing how the intricate machinery is supposed to work. Worth the price of this set by itself!

This baby still available anywhere? Looks pretty nice (still haven’t watched the film myself).
This isn’t terribly relevant, but since there are Dutch here. Where can I buy R2NL dvds online? I’ve been trying to find “A Brief History of Time” and it is only available in the Netherlands as far as I can tell.
The place to try is http://www.bol.com .
They’re not cheap or particularly English-friendly, but they do have a big assortment and ship internationally.
A more fun shop is http://www.rodisc.nl, a bunch of rogue movie enthusiasts who have done it the other way round for many past years: it was often the only place where you could buy R1 or R3 imports, despite them being hammered with lawsuits from nearly all the major movie distributors (thankfully, they won most of them!).
I don’t know their international shipping policies but they’re nice people to contact so worth a try…

It seems to be OOP (both Rodisc and Bol don’t have it), but this was released worldwide so aim wide in your search. There are region 1 and 2 versions of this edition, with only the outer box art differing. Look for the “director’s cut” which contains the set of postcards, and you’ll know you’ve got the right one!
Amazon US lists it as available through other suppliers.
