Based on the Mark Millar/John Romita Jr. comic, this is one super-hero flick that looks to break the mold. Personally, I'm a huge fan of the book, which is about a comic geek named Dave Lizewski who decides to become a superhero himself, even though he has no superpowers and isn't much of a fighter. In my opinion, KICK ASS is the best of the post-ironic superhero stuff, playing on all the tropes and cliches of the genre, but never condescending. Full of laughs and thrills in printed form, the film seems to have really nailed the tone of it's comic-stand counterpart. Chloe Moretz, who plays the katana wielding tyke Hit Girl is set for a breakout role here as well. And Nic Cage, who plays her father/trainer Damon Macready, is also set for a redemptive year with the well received BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS and now KICK ASS, which early reports have being a potential classic of an action/comedy hybrid. Take a look. I know on April 16, 2010 I'll be planted in a theater seat smiling like the geek I am. In the immortal words of Polymer records' Marty Fuffkin, "Kick my ass! I'm not asking...I'm telling!"

Looks like a ton of fun. Nice looking trailer as well.
That trailer's sweet.
It cdertainly does appear to have an appropriate title.
yeah, nice trailer. looks fun :)
Sweeeetah! This is pretty much page for page Millars comic. Glad to see that they're sticking to the source material.
very nice, but a very pussy teaser compared to the previous shorts, or the comiccon trailer...family friendlier, i guess.
I hope they come out with a red-band trailer so that people know that this isn't a nice little superhero comedy.
