For those unaware, 44 Inch Chest is an upcoming British thriller (sort of, it's an unusual creature, this one) from the writers of Sexy Beast, with which it shares a number of cast members. I've seen it. It's very good. But beyond that I think the less said at this point the better. Co-star Ian McShane has something he'd like to tell you. Take a look below.

McShane should be huge. He's amazing.
Oh, lord ... McShane as Smaug would be AMAZING. Particularly if they let him do a Deadwood version of the voice track as an adults-only bonus feature.
His voice is incredible. I still can't look at him without thinking of Lovejoy though... For any non-UK readers who aren't familiar - 80s/90s TV show with McShane as a cheeky rogue of an antiques dealer always trying to touch up the landed gentry. Naff and of its time, but somehow wonderful.
