I was just discussing in the comment section of my review that a Bluray release for Park Chan-Wook's wonderful 박쥐 (Thirst) would happen down the line, and it's indeed happening, much sooner than you'd think. DVD Times just reported that Palisades Tartan will release the film on Bluray in the UK this coming January 25th, with the following specs:
- Dolby 2.0 and 5.1 and DTS 5.1 audio options
- Audio commentary by director Park Chan-wook
- Trailer
- UK exclusive interview with Park Chan-wook
- £24.99 RRP. Likely to be coded Region B.
They'll miss Christmas by a good month, but if there's any late Xmas gift you might want to look into, this is the perfect film. Thirst is also released on US DVD courtesy of Focus on November 17, and will get a Korean version before Christmas, including the longer (10+ minutes) version which was recently screened at the PIFF.

I really enjoyed this film in the theater. Any idea if Korea will release a Blu ray to go along with it around Xmas? I know it took them a few months to get TGTBTW on Blu ray. I guess I'll hold off on the US release for now.

I just ordered a region free blu ray player, so I'll probably pick up the UK disc when it comes out. I can always rent it on DVD in the mean time. I really loved it and I think my wife will even enjoy it.
