And it looks... fun? Now whether it will be the purely visceral kind, or something with some cinematic meat to boot, that's still too early to tell. But knowing Choi Dong-Hoon, the mastermind behind 범죄의 재구성 (The Big Swindle) and 타짜 (Tazza: The High Rollers), we're not likely to get just a mindless superhero flick.
His latest 전우치 (Jeon Woo Chi) is an interesting take on the cult-like legacy of the titular folk hero, catapulting him centuries ahead of his time in modern Korea, where he has to deal with the same spurious villains who created him headaches in the Joseon dynasty. Or is that the case? Because, see, Jeon Woo-Chi was not your usual righteous man on a mission, as he enjoyed the company of women and the bottle more than going mano y mano with his foes. Pragmatic.
Teaser only sets the mood, but Choi's knack for style is already evident, as is the fact this film will benefit from a humongous cast no matter what. Other than lead Kang Dong-Won, we get Kim Yoon-Seok, Baek Yoon-Shik, Yoo Hae-Jin, Yeom Jung-Ah, Kim Sang-Ho and, last but definitely not least, Im Soo-Jung. December can't come soon enough.

Ooh! Like a more serious minded Arahan! I like!
Looks interesting.
Reminds me a little of Highlander and X-Men.
I love these types of genre movies. Should be fun.
Glad to see that Im Soo-jung is back!
