There's no doubt about it, after the runaway success of
Flame and Citron Thure Lindhart is the new golden child of Danish film. The talented young actor has a slate of high profile projects lined up spanning all genres and it looks as though the next to arrive will be Nicolo Donato's
Brotherhood. In it Lindhart plays a disillusioned young man drawn to Denmark's neo-Nazi movement in no small part because he finds himself sexually attracted to Jimmy, one of its members. In an interesting - and pretty compelling - against-type turn, Twitch fave Nicolas Bro goes against his normal comic-sidekick roles to play the fascist leader.
"Brotherhood" is a story about dangerous love and the search for
identity. Following disillusionment with his career, Lars decides to
leave the army and is drawn to the Neo-Nazi movement and not least to
his peer, Jimmy. The two men become embroiled in a secret love affair,
but such forbidden love cannot go unpunished in fascist circles.
However, despite all the rules forbidding it, the love and sexual
attraction between the two men is so strong that they cannot abandon
their affair.
Brokeback Mountain meets
American History X seems a fair description of this one based on the freshly-arrived trailer.
Lol, I knew it!
