Full marks to Quiet Earth for spotting upcoming Czech thriller The Eye (aka Oko, Oko Ve Zdi and The Eye In The Wall). Giving a rare lead role to gifted and prolific character actor Karel Roden - far too often relegated to anonymous European bad guy parts in Hollywood - is more than enough reason to pay attention to this one but with a cast that also includes Jurgen Prochnow and a trailer that promises elegant, intelligent scares ... well, I'm sold. This trailer is brimming with dark atmosphere. Some shots seem to refrerence classic noir, horror, etc. One moment in particular that comes up about 25 seconds in is reminiscent of scene from In Cold Blood where rain on glass looks like flowing tears. Looks to be impressively shot.
