First Clip Of Kevin Sorbo In Albert Pyun´s TALES OF AN ANCIENT EMPIRE

by Todd Brown, October 14, 2009 1:00 PM

Funny thing: While at Fantastic Fest last month the question I was asked more than any other was not about any of the films at the festival.  No, instead it revolved around a news story I posted about Tales of an Ancient Empire - Albert Pyun´s follow up to 1980´s cult hit fantasy picture The Sword And The Sorcerer. You may think you´re the only guy around with a weak spot for Pyun´s brand of cult epic but trust me: You´re not.  We are legion.

We´ve been following this one closely since before it even went before camera and with some big star power added - a pony tail sporting martial artist, anyone? - and the film now in post production we´ve got a look at the first clip, one which features Kevin Sorbo and Melissa Ordway as the half-sibling children of original star Lee Horseley, meeting one another for the first time.  Check the clip below.

Albert Pyun hasn't done a thing that I have liked since CYBORG...and even that is a stretch. If you are implying that Steven Seagull is the mytery martial artist, then I honestly have completely no idea why you guys are pushing this piece. Sorbo was wack back when people knew who he was.

Kevin Sorbo with a sword again! I´ve never been a fan of Pyun, at all, but you know, that made me feel nostalgic.

Very sweet looking real popcorn movie. Old fashion fun. It took me back in time to when I was a kid at a matinee with my friends. maybe I'll gather them back together and have our mom's drop us off!
