[Update: the FAR superior UK trailer can be found below the break.]
Well, it's been years, frankly, and while I have no idea what took so long, Joe Ma's Hong Kong-Japan co-produced re-envisioning of classic cult title Female Convict Scorpion is finally geting a release in Japan. Which means that literally two full years after we first ran stills from the film's shoot we can finally share a trailer. Temper your excitement, though ... while it's good to finally have a trailer the source quality on this is unforgivably bad - low resolution and poorly encoded. But, for the time being it's all there is and you'll find it below the break.

No match to the original.
I love the original, i'm not against a new interpretation of the story but, the trailer made this look like any random directo-to-video flick. The lead actress doesn't convince me a lot either, Meiko Kaji could melt ice with her eyes.
I'm willing to give it a look, but i'm not expecting much.
Holy hell. It's about time. I guess I am in the minority too on this one Todd. Been waiting forever for someone to do something with this film. Very disappointing to see how it has been handled. They've been sitting on this for far too long and doing nothing to get word out about it. I liked it a lot.
the UK DVD release is on August 10th
I saw this film last year at Fantasia; It is an okay film. The original is really great.
i like artport and sameway staff
i loved dog bite dog
but seriously, SASORI, its a dud. dont waste 90 mins of your life on this. or maybe you should, just so you can say how bad it is.
the whole "overdub japanese actor and actresses with mandarin or cantonese" thing should really just go away.
Ah, see, the version I saw had everybody speaking their own language. Vocal dubbing drives me nuts, too ...
Kind of a shame this got a western release before Hard Revenge, Milly -- which is way more fun and undoubtedly a whole lot cheaper to pick up.
