With the overseas release date for the live-action film adaptation of Blood: The Last Vampire is fast approaching, the promotional train continues to chug away. Yahoo! Japan Movies is hosting the first 5 minute scene while the official French site is hosting a couple of clips. Its definitely not safe for work for the bloody dismemberment. Jeon Ji-Hyun (Gianna Jun) as Saya is someone I wouldn't want to cross paths with in a dark alleyway. Note to self: don't ever piss her off or else I might get my face sliced in half.
You''ll find the opening scene and some clips after the break.
Opening Scene.
Clip 1: Saya (Gianna Jun) fights two vampire girls.
Clip 2: Saya (Gianna Jun) fights a horde of vampires.
Clip 3: Saya (Gianna Jun) reveals her true identity to Alice (Allison Miller).
Clip 4: Saya (Gianna Jun) vs Onigen (Koyuki)

I think I understand their intent to do the cgi blood spray that way, but its still horribly done. Also, the added friendship with American student is going to be painful. Not even remotely necessary. Shame, such a cool little animation movie ruined.
tbh, the movie is going to be lame narrative-wise. its sort of a given. but im relatively shocked at how entertaining its looking to be from all these vids...
I'm not sold on the action scenes, personally. I like to be able to SEE the movements and action in my movies. The nervous shaky cams and accelerated/slowed filming, out-of-focus, quick zooms and all, it just kills it, IMHO.
The action sequences look very poorly directed. So yeah, i'll just skip this one.
I know the producers are paying you guys to hype this turd but how about giving us a break from this craptacular onslaught?
I really dug the original short, but this isn't looking good...
" Bring on Tsui Hark’s LUPIN adaptation"
Please, not him. That guy is rusty as hell, he should just stop doing movies.
I cannot wait to see...Blood The Last Vampire. This could be the first...Blade Clone's to be good. Now that BTLV is getting a release in the USA, the studio that acquired it should...clean up at the box office, with the bloodbath that is...Blood The Last Vampire.
Common sense tells me to write off Tsui Hark; I saw BLACK MASK 2 and it's on the level of Uwe Boll at his worst. But I can't do it. I have this completely irrational belief that he's got a couple more gems in him yet. He's always been uneven, but every so often you get THE BLADE or ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA 2 out of the man.
