Another trailer for Shane Acker's much awaited post-apocalyptic film 9 has popped up courtesy of G4's Attack of the Show. This one has a bit more John C. Reilly which is never a bad thing unless Adam Sander is nearby, which he is not. Instead we get Jennifer Connelly, Martin Landau and Christopher Plummer. Yummy. As evidenced by the clips that popped up online earlier, this one promises to be a bit edgier than your family friendly childrens CGI features from Pixar or Dreamworks. And bless that.
All humans are gone. When 9, a sentient rag-doll comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world. It is only by chance that he discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Despite being the neophyte of the group, 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place.
The new trailer is embedded after the jump.

Speaking of John C. Reilly. What happened to the guy?
I mean he passed from working with Altman, Scorsese and PT Anderson to ... well, the Frat Pack Movies.
Don't get me wrong, I like those flicks (he was damn funny in Walk Hard), but it's a career move.
In any case 9 will own.
idk. ive been a fan of the short film for quite some time as i stumbled upon it a few years ago... the simple addition of voices and all this big-hollywood backing just takes something away from it. i'll certainly still see the feature length film, but nothing can beat Shane Acker's original short.
That's strange, I never thought I'd see a film that would remind me this strongly of "Malice@Doll"...
I'd say it's a fair bet that the original short'll be included as an extra feature on the DVD. Or is it already available?
