Break Out The Rain Slickers And Brace For Arterial Spray! VAMPIRE GIRL VS FRANKENSTEIN GIRL Is Here!

by Todd Brown, April 21, 2009 8:11 AM

Back in the lead up to Fantastic Fest 2008, Outcast Cinema's Marc Walkow played a key role in bringing Tokyo Gore Police and director / gore-tastic effects man Yoshihiro Nishimura to the good ol' U.S. of A. for spread his blend of carnage across the screen. Walkow and Nishimura have stayed in touch since and it was Walkow who pointed me to the behind the scenes shots from Nishimura's upcoming Vampire Girl Vs Frankenstein Girl while also letting me know that the first trailer for the film would be unveiled at the official press launch in Japan on April 21st. Well, it may still be the 20th here, but it's the 21st there and the trailer is here.

You want extreme splatter and gore? Oh, yeah, it's all here and then some in all the high-pressure spraying fashion that you'd come to expect from a man that brews massive vats of blood in his workshop. Exploding heads, severed limbs, utterly bizarre prosthetics, this is vintage Nishimura in action. Check out the trailer below the break! Keep an eye out for Tokyo Gore Police and Audition star Eihi Shiina tucked away in the trailer and if anyone knows anything about the music playing throughout I'd love to hear it.

Amazing. I peed my pants. Was that Takashi Shimizu I saw for a brief moment?

user-pic

I think so, yes. Shimizu and Nishimura are friends and Shimizu actually had a role in Tokyo Gore Police.

user-pic

Hell yes! I'm there

user-pic

Wainting for this !

Them being friends probably explains why Nishimua was at one point attached to direct the two most recent JU-ON sequels that Shimizu served as producer on. I wonder if they'd have allowed him to bring his own unique style to the franchise or not? My money is on "no" and that he ultimately passed because of that.

Which is which ?

Maybe Richard Raaphorst should have a talk or two with these guys... I don't know, get them to endorse him or something.

And who knows, It might even lead to "Lesbian Vampire Girls vs. the Army of Frankenstein"!
