[REC] 2 Teaser trailer

by Swarez, February 17, 2009 7:53 PM

We have spent some virtual ink on the already classic horror film [REC] in the past and of course we are going to do the same with the sequel to that smash hit. A while ago a little teaser hit the web (rumored to be fake) sporting only the logo, some creepy sounds and some lady talking over it, but this time a new, longer, teaser has been released, featuring what I guess is footage from the film but showing very little at the same time, focusing more on the sound that is such a big part of the experience. The sequel picks up right after where the original ended but no word yet if they leave the dreaded apartment building to a bigger setting, which is usually the case with sequels. The trailer hit the Spanish site aullidos.com and then youtube of course.
Being the sucka that I am I was unable to upload the thing in to our own player so I'll guess Youtube will have to do. You'll find it after the break.

really looking forward to this...the first [Rec] was awesome

I am really torn by the new trailer - on the one hand, its definitely upping the ante (the guy in front looks like SWAT = guns. lots of guns.), and I love the way it builds the tension by a) focusing on the blood-splattered stairs and b) the sounds coming from the floors above.

The whole "viewed through the lens" angle seems a bit contrived for a sequel though. There can't surely be another news crew...

I agree fully with MikeOutWest.
And if they DO ditch the “viewed through the lens” angle the title will stop making sense.

I loved the first [.REC] yet I'm probably biased against a second one. In the first, a lot of things were based around improvisation and keeping the cast in the dark about the twists in the plot.
That sort of magic will be hard to replicate if you make this a larger-scale effort, which I still think is going to happen.

Then again, if this manages to compare to [.REC] like "Aliens" does to "Alien", hell...
...BRING IT ON!!!
