Picture, Thousand Words, Etc. First Shot From The TOKYO GORE POLICE Prequel Short

by Todd Brown, January 14, 2009 2:40 AM

All I have to say about this is that it appears to be the first finished shot from Yoshihiro Nishimura's upcoming Tokyo Gore Police prequel short, a film being prepared for the Japanese DVD release of Nishimura's feature. I honestly don't believe any further commentary is possible. Check all the Tokyo Gore promo videos below the break.

It looked good from the pics never saw any trailers for it though...Well I am glad I am not the only one who has the same opinion.

It's Media Blasters so there will be the current bare bones, make-a-quick-buck edition, then a "special edition" in about a year (at least half a year after the Japanese DVD release) and then the eventual "Ultimate Edition". It's like it's 1999 all over again. How about getting it right the first time and not messing with your customers so much?

Yeah, I pretty much despise Media Blasters releases and will generally buy HK Reg 1 boots over them. And even in special editions, they never bother to clean the prints up at all. The idea of Media Blasters putting out a blu ray disc of Ichi is hysterical, I imagine they're only converting their half ass telecine job from DVD to Blu-ray, which means it won't look any different.

At least their prices have gone done, god, I remember being an idiot and forking out 30 fucking dollars for a copy of Zeiram the first time around, now it goes for 15. Troma dvds have nicer menus with better presentation than Tokyo Shock dvds. What gives?

At least Tokyo Gore Police looks like it was shot on video, so it's muddy look has nothing to do with transfer, it's just what it naturally looks like.
