Who would have thought Korean pop superstar Rain is capable of carrying an action film? At first, I had my doubts when I heard he was going to headline Wachowski's produce Ninja Assassin but a stunt reel has turn up on Youtube that convinced me to reconsider my judgment of him as just another pretty boy. The stunt reel showcase Rain in top physical shape and training swordplay choreography with the 87Eleven stunt team to prepare him for the fight scenes. I'm impress on how well Rain is able to move swiftly under a complicated set of steps. This will definitely get the fangirls swooning hysterically.
Raizo is one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them...and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge. In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow, Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi, to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive...and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.
No specific release date has been announced yet. You'll find the stunt reel after the break.

Holy crap....this looks sick! Didn't have high hopes for this, but definitely got me interested now. And look at his sixpack......sjeeesh...all I got is a kegpack! But let's see the official trailer first before I get TOO excited.
I can't believe the Comic-Con reel for NINJA ASSASSIN remains under lock and key. It was apparently very bloody and the ONE picture that's been released from the film (seen above) seems to back that up.
Great reel. Last time I got this excited watching b-roll was Marko Zaror and his chilean stunt team in action.
The guys performing the stunts here, are all very talented, could turn out good,
hopefully the choreography, editing and photography is on the same astonishing level.
Whoa...
those 87 eleven guys are awesome.
his big strength as popstar is dance, with some of the most interesting and physically demanding choreography in kpop. so he's got the mindset and physical stamina (they train insanely) to carry over to NINJA. they buffed him up with a team of personal trainers for 6 months, which is like his typical concert prep on crack??
i can't wait for this movie and i'm very impressive rain ( as a k-pop star) can
be so cool in those fight scene .
from watching this clip it definitely looks good, like he busted his ass training, this should be a special feature when the dvd comes out, i cant wait for the actual trailer and i hope that this somehow gets a release in the states even if its just direct to dvd thru dragon dynasty or something like that.
I cant wait to see the trailer in the theaters...the mini trailer shown at Comic.con in July was such a teaser. Does anyone really know where this will be released. It seems like they are taking every month in 2009, throwing them up in the air and whichever month lands first is the release month.I've seen January-October,with and without reasons...this is causing anxiery amongst us Biers to say the least...keke
this is definitly getting a US release, so don't worry about that. I just hope that the editing is that crappy "Bourne, can't tell what the hell is going on" style, if so it will ruin the movie, but if not this movie will be a huge hit.
what was shown doesn't look too bad, but i can't get over the casting of chinese and koreans as japanese.
Casting Chinese as Japanese should be okay, the Chinese cast Chinese as Japanese or Chinese as Koreans (Fist of Fury with Bruce Lee or Battle of Wits (Ahn Sung Ki)
